This indenture made this 23rd day of May anno domini 1797. Between Ephraim Beasley of Spotsylvania County the one part and William Beasley of the county of aforesaid the other part witnesseth that the said Ephraim Beasley for an in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty two pounds sixteen shillings current money of Virginia in hand paid by the said William Beasley the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & {illegible} doth release acquit and discharge the said William Beasley his heirs executors administrators by these presents and the said William Beasley have granted bargained soto alien'd releas'd and confirmed unto the said William Beazley his heirs and assigns forever a parcel of land in the County of aforesaid containing by estimation one hundred and forty eight acres as bounded as follows beginning at two Gums and a maple North side of Stony Run then North twenty degrees East twenty two pole to a red oak corner then South seventy degrees East ninety four poles to a pine east side of Tarrkiln branch, thence North three degrees west one hundred and forty six poles to the muin Road then with the said road the several courses (upwards) to Townley's line then thirty three degrees West one hundred and fourteen pole to an oak in the north side of a poplar on the south side of Stony Run then down the Run the civil courses to the beginning with privileges whatsoever to the said land belonging on or any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said one hundred and forty eight acres of land be the same more or less, to the only proper use and behalf of him the said William Beazley his heirs assigns forever & the said Ephraim Beazley for himself his heirs & do covenant & agree unk with the said William Beazley his heirs and assigns by these presents that the said premises now and forever so remain free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever committed by him the said Ephraim Beazley or any person claiming under him. In witness whereof the s'd Ephraim Beazley have hereunto set his hand and seal Day and Date above written.
