[1216] BIOGRAPHY: Alexander Patteson of Clover Hill (the present old Appomattox Courthouse on the surrender gournds) operated the stage line from Richmond to Lynchburg. He and his brother, Lilbourn, started the line about 1811, three years before they bought Clover Hill.

On 2 Nov 1704 when Cornelius was 33, he married Sarah Mansfield (201), daughter of John Mansfield (b 15 May 1726) & Sarah Phelps (159) (16 Mar 1654-26 to Oct 1732). Born on 5 Jan 1685 in Windsor, CT. Sarah died in1774; she was 88. They had the following children: i. Sarah. Born on 19 Dec 1705 in Windsor, CT. ii. Cornelius. Born on 2 Jun 1707 in Windsor, CT.
