[7720] Catherine Clagett's parents were natives of Lexington and Hagerstown, Maryland.

[7716] He owns a handsome farm two and one half miles east of Versailles, containing about 1000 acres.

[7722] In 1887, James R. Gay was living on the homestead purchased by his grandfather in 1782, which has ever since remained in the family. It is 600 acres of as choice and sightly land as can be found in the state. Pisgah was founded about 1787 by the Gays, Stevensons, and Dunlaps.
