Six children were born of the union, of whom two daughters are living. They are Mrs. L. P. Latimer, wife on the artist, of San Francisco, and Miss Frances Phelps. In 1887 the family returned to Santa Rosa and have since resided here. Mr. Phelps was a man of great integrity. [3086] Anne Boleyn is one of the most famous queens in English history, though she ruled for just three years. The daughter of an ambitious knight and niece of the duke of Norfolk, Anne spent her adolescence in France. When she returned to England, her wit and style were her greatest charms. She had a circle of admirers and became secretly engaged to Henry Percy. She also entered the service of Katharine of Aragon. But she soon caught the eye of Henry VIII. He ordered Percy from court and tried to make Anne his mistress. She refused. Her sister, Mary, had been the king's mistress and gained little from it but scandal. Her hopes with Percy dashed, Anne demanded that the king marry her. For nearly seven years, she waited while Henry struggled to obtain an annulment. It finally took an irrevocable breach with the Holy See before they wed in 1533. But she was unable to give Henry the son he desperately needed and their marriage ended tragically for Anne. She was executed on patently false charges of witchcraft, incest and adultery on 19 May 1536. Her daughter, Elizabeth, would become England's greatest queen.

[9279]
Johann came to America December 23, 1882 from Germany and settled in the Norwalk, Ohio area. It was there that he met his wife to be, Hattie Klein. Her family was also from Germany. They moved to a farm south of Deerfield, Michigan on Rodesiler Highway. Later it was the Carl Goetz Farm.
Johann, Henrietta, and baby Marie are all buried in the Deerfield Cemetery (Lot#262).
[9609] Based in part on notes compiled by Majorie Miller Barr.
The first of the Klein family to come to the United States were brother and sister Marie Henrietta "Haddie" Klein and Henry Klein. According to oral family history, Henrietta lost her wallet and all her money on the boat coming to America. Haddie and Henry headed for Norwalk, Ohio. According to Henry's niece, Minnie Klein, "...Henry got work at the old Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad roundhouse and Haddie found work for a family as housekeeper." Another sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Klein (m. Ernst Loeffler) and then Karl Klein came next.
Marie Henrietta was known as Haddie most of her life, as was her daughter Hedwig. Henrietta's or Haddie's future husband Johann Andrew Opel came to America from Germany on 23 December 1882 and settled in the Norwalk, Ohio area, where he and Haddie Klein met. They were married on 20 January 1887 and moved to a farm south of Deerfield, Michigan on Rodisiler Highway. It was later called the Carl Goetz Farm. Johann, Henrietta, and baby Marie are all buried in the Deerfield Cemetery (Lot#262) in Deerfield, Michigan.
The four siblings saved money and in 1892 sent it to Germany to bring over their sister, my great-grandmother and father, Philipena Klein Bremser and her husband, Heinrich Gottlieb Bremser.
According to her great-grandson, Ron Miller, Henrietta lost her wallet and all her money on the boat coming to America. Most of her life she was known as Haddie. Her daughter Hedwig was also known as Haddie.
[9365] Bill farmed and worked at Monroe Nursery. Later he rented a farm and moved to Petosky, Mi.. Bill had hay fever. His daughters Marie and Betty, married brothers.
[5104] Elizabeth married and lived in Norwalk, Ohio. As a child I remember Bill and Liz coming up to the Miller Farm for visits. -- Ron Miller
[6545] After Hedwig had a heart attack (not sure what year), I had the opportunity to go stay with Grandma and help her so that she could be at home. It was then that I really got to know her better. She taught me alot about cooking; and if anyone remembers her meals, they know what a good cook she was. To this day if we have liver and onions at our house, I am elected to prepare it as Grandma taught me. She also shared with me some of her past memories, which has alot to do with my interest in family history.
[9366] Adolf lived on the family farm after he was married, but later moved to Addison, Michigan.
[9367] As a girl on the farm in Deerfield, Edna would cross the Raisin River in the winter on the ice to sell eggs and butter to the people in the village.
Edna lived at home untill 1993. She drove a car up untill she entered the home. She was 92 and lived alone until she entered Provincial House in Adrian, Michigan, where she lived until she died.
