If you have researched the Clagget or Clagett family history for any length of time, you have undoubtedly heard of the work of Brice Clagett of Maryland. Brice, a Washington lawyer for more than 40 years, and an avid genealogist, died April 8, 2008 of cardiac arrest at George Washington University Hospital.

Brice Clagett, Family Historian |
It was his ambition to publish Seven Centuries: Ancestors of Twenty Generations of John Brice de Treville Clagett and Ann Calvert Brooke Clagett. Mr. Clagett practiced law at Covington & Burling in Washington D.C. until 2002.
Mr. Clagett told me he had enough material for four volumes on the Clagetts of 1000 pages each. Each time I spoke to him, he reported that the first volume is "several years away." We have been unable to determine the disposition of his research after his death.
